What we've done...

Worked with Florida Department of Transportation “FDOT” to close Main Street for Pioneer Days - making it a safer event

Sponsored annual Independence Day Celebration since 2006

Organized downtown shopping spree promotion with grand prize of $1000 in gift certificates during Holiday Season 2007

Assisted Chamber of Commerce with Christmas Tree Lighting event

Holds annual Volunteer and Sponsor banquet

Facilitated Main Street street-scape enhancements including new street lights, benches, trash cans, tree grates and bike racks to make downtown more attractive

Acted as liaison for the renovation of The Great Outdoors Restaurant and Opera House as an anchor establishment in downtown

Developed and published the Main Street Downtown Guide and Map

Constructed and administered the 2008 Pioneer Days resident and visitor survey to determine what is important to YOU

Successfully generated the Group Advertising Promotion Campaign in Travelhost magazine to promote High Springs businesses


Allocated over $12000 in facade renovation grants

Partnered with the Community Redevelopment Agency to implement over $200,000 in improvements for James Paul Park

Created a checklist for new business owners to help streamline the process of opening a business in High Springs

Created a Commercial Real Estate Inventory for interested businesses

Designed and purchased seasonal banners hanging from new lamp posts


Hold annual strategic planning work shops to measure our progress and chart our course for the coming year

Work with the National Main Street four-part program for Economic Restructuring, Design, Promotion and Organization to effectively achieve goals and objectives.

What we have plans to do....

2008 promises to be another great year for achieving goals and supporting area businesses, and the community of High Springs as plans move forward to continue to conduct quarterly workshops for member and community education in sound business practices that include marketing, advertising, employee relations, computer and Internet, record keeping, accounting and tax, organization, banking-financing, merchant round-table discussions, are underway for future seminars.

Our regular monthly Board Meeting is the 4th Tuesday of each month and is held at the High Springs Women’s Club across the street from the Main Street office (next to City Hall) at 6:30 pm.
